Yeah it's horrifying the way we choose to educate our children, biological and otherwise, is twisted. I know some crazy ass people came here and are probably still watching and tried to make what I was saying here into something ugly and perverse when really we doing what we should be, educating.

Gracias for commenting.

I hate feeling like we have to engage our kids (meaning our biological ones and also the ones we feel responsible for in our community) in secret. Sometimes I wonder, what do my kids say in my absence when they are around their peers? Are they schoolin them? My kids know so much that sometimes I am afraid.

I also taught reproduction to a group of young women of color, who were Catholic school students, and I struggle with telling them the whole truth and telling them an acceptable truth...when then deserved to know, and wanted to know the whole truth. So, I told them all that I could in the time span that was allowed--even if we didn't cover other things in the curriculum. They get enough shaming and misinformation via commercials and posters that target our communities...cause you know every black woman walking around has HIV/AIDS....*sigh* *eye roll*
